Bruce Kicker saved the life of Jeff Joseph right in the middle of Minnesota’s St. Paul Turkey Trot on November 28, 2013. That was the fateful day that Joseph (age 34) and his wife were there in full Thanksgiving spirited costumes, ready to run. The Joseph couple were expecting their first baby and when Jeff collapsed during the run, his wife panicked. She didn’t know what to do. Fortunately for them, Bruce Kicker (now know to the Joseph family as “Bruce Almighty”), was just behind them. Bruce is a Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse, and consequently is trained in CPR. Seeing Jeff collapse he immediately stopped to help and recognizing the signs of cardiac arrest, he began performing CPR. The CPR continued for about 10 minutes until Jeff was taken to the hospital (the one where Bruce Kicker works!) where he remained for some weeks in a coma.
Jeff is now recovered and will soon be the proud father of new infant son. CPR saves lives.
