CA Child Care 8-hour Pediatric First Aid CPR AED 🚼
Every parent wants to know that they’ve left their precious child in the hands of a safe and responsible caregiver, and there’s no better way to prove it than with pediatric first aid and CPR training.
This comprehensive 8 hour course is ideal for anyone who works or is going to be working with children and who needs the qualification to meet the legal requirements of the workplace as stipulated by the California Department of Social Services’ Title 22 regulations.
Who is required to take the 8-hour EMSA course?
In California, the Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) requires that all licensed childcares have at least one person on duty at all times, certified with the EMSA approved childcare training. Most childcares have their entire staff take the training together.
What is covered in the 8 hour EMSA CPR and First Aid course?
This course is required to have 4 hours of CPR training and 4 hours of First-Aid with an emphasis on pediatric patients. Our program covers many topics in the course of these 8 hours, including adult CPR, but we also cover medical, injury and enviornmental emergencies, as well a number of childcare specific items.
Will I receive a certifiction?
Yes – all participants will earn a 2-year certification. One copy will be emailed and is verifiable online, and a hard-copy will be provided with the EMSA stickers on it.Â
Is there an EMSA recertificdation course?
No, EMSA requires the full 8-hour course every two years. There is one recognized and approved option that may save you a few hours. This is the blended learning option through the AHA. You’ll do most of the didactic learning online, and follow with an in-person skills session. For details view our Blended learning course and choose Pediatric First-Aid & CPR/AED.
Can we do the EMSA course at our location?
The EMSA course can be taught privately at your business. Our instructors can come to your facility for a private class, and in many cases, this is cheaper than having people register for the class individually. Call us for details (925-335-6076).
